Seasons: April to May and September to November months, April to May best time when morning to mid-day with clear fine weather for views and walks with mild temperatures, right times for treks to Manaslu when wildflowers are in full bloom times, especially the rhododendron flowers. Rhododendron from tall trees to bushes with flowers that blossom of various species and colors that decorate the hill and valleys (national flower of Nepal). October to November months another best time for treks around autumn/fall days are clear for views as well right temperatures for walks, can be cold during night and morning times with chances of snow in high areas of Manaslu valley and above 1,800 meters high.

Around Manaslu Trekking was closed for outside travelers then it opened its door since last three decades where adventurer and trekkers can observe its beautiful treasures of mountains-hills and valley including the impressive culture of Manaslu high villages. Around Manaslu Trekking certainly fascinates trekkers as walk leads with the change of climate, elevation, and landscapes as well cultures of low Hindu people with much difference to higher Manaslu tribes interwoven with Buddhism religion and closely related to Tibetans due to its closeness border with Tibet. Manaslu also called as Kutang by local Manaslu people of Tibetan origin language where walk leads you into the cool shade of forest covered by rhododendron-oaks and pines tree lines, then soon drops for arid and dry climate and landscapes on reaching high Manaslu valley. Manaslu valley enclosed by the massive mountain range of Manaslu and other northern peaks where walk leads past interesting villages of Namrung-Logan and at Sama-Gaon with time to explore local immense culture and views of peaks. After a wonderful time around villages of Manaslu heading towards the end of the valley at the base of Larke-La Pass, where next morning a long traverse leads to the highest spot of the adventure at above 5,106 m facing fantastic panorama of mountain views. Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.

Day 03: Drive to Soti-Khola 700m- 07 hrs.

Day 04:    Trek to Machhe-Khola 869 m- 05 hrs

Day 05: Trek to Dobhan 1,070 m via Tatopani (Hot Spring) - 06 hrs.

Day 06: Trek to Jagat 1,340 m- 06 hrs.

Day 07:     Trek to Deng 1,860 m- 05 hrs.

Day 13: Trek to Bhimthang 3,590m via Larke-La pass 5,106 m - 07 hrs.

Day 14: Trek to Gho in 2,867 in the midst of a forest - 05 hrs.

Day 15: Trek to Dharapani 1,963 m -05/6 hrs.

Day 16: Drive to Kathmandu on local Jeep or Bus- 07 hrs.

Day 17: International departure for homeward bound.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Yeti Mountain staff and guides for short transfer to your hotel in the center of Kathmandu city around interesting Thamel area or nearby. On checking into your rooms getting refreshed briefing of the treks with other useful information, with welcome dinner in nice Nepalese restaurants with cultural programs.

Day 02: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.

Morning by 9 a.m. where our city guide will take you for an interesting tour around great places steeped with world heritage sites and monuments, after a half day or full day tour back to hotel preparation for the treks.

Day 03: Drive to Soti-Khola 700m- 07 hrs.

Morning transfer for exciting overland drives towards Mid West on Nepal's busy and main highway as the journey leads to lower warmer mid hills past farm villages and towns with views of snow-capped peaks. As the drive continues with few refreshing stops head west to reach at Dhading and towards Gorkha areas to reach warm sub-tropical Arughat. Drive continues from Arughat past rural farm villages and terraced fields with numerous streams and then on the bank of Buri Gandaki through cultivated land, with many scattered farmhouses and hamlets to reach Mordor, Simone, and Arket villages. After a short climb to Kyoropani, then descend once again to a river for the overnight stop at Soti Khola, with time to relax and stroll around this small farm village.

Day 04:    Trek to Machhe-Khola 869 m- 05 hrs.

After Soti-Khola, walk into dense forest areas and past small villages to the upper village of Lapses, from here walk descends to wide riverbed following steep, craggy valley side. At some length leading to a climb on the trail to Machha Khola for an overnight stop, with a number of teashops and small lodge, the word Maccha Khola means Fish Stream.

Day 05: Trek to Dobhan 1,070 m via Tatopani (Hot Spring) - 06 hrs.

From here onward altitude gains with altitude gain as morning walk leads to cross over a stream where Machha Khola (Fish stream) name comes from, then walk upstream towards Khola-Bensi village with Tatopani a place with natural 'hot spring'.  As the walk continues valley becomes much narrow then crossing a suspension bridge, after a short period of walk entering a patch of forest and then reaching Doban located on the high shelf of Buri Gandaki River. 

Day 06: Trek to Jagat 1,340m- 05 hrs.

Morning walk leads to Lauri stream crossing bridge that leads to climbing on high trails and then descending into the open valley of Yara Khola, where our journey continues on for another hour to the village of Jagat. Jagat a nice looking farm village of moderate size after Arughat; people of mix tribes Magar, Chettries, Brahman, Manaslu Bhatia (Tibetan looking tribes) and some Newar people a lodge owner and shopkeepers. 

Day 07:     Trek to Deng 1,860m- 05 hrs.

After Jagat trail descends to reach a river, as the route climbs on a terraced hillside at Saguleri, with a view of Sringi Himal 7,187m, walk continue with ups and down the trail as our route reach at a bridge over Buri-Gandaki. After crossing a bridge as the trail winds up to reach Philim village for short break and to observe this nice farm village with rich cultivated fields and terraces. After a short stop at Philip, walk past farm villages with a climb through terraces of golden fields of wheat’s and barley,  to reach a rocky ridgetop covered within bamboo forest area towards Eklai Bhatti. After a rest walk towards high Manaslu area, where route diverts North West to reach our overnight stop at Deng a small nice village of Tibetan culture.

Day 08:     Trek to Namrung 2,630 m - 05 hrs.

Morning walk from Deng leads to a much cooler area with an increase in altitude our route leads high areas and then with a short downhill to a riverside to a place called Bihi Bazaar a small village near a riverside. From Bihi where walk follows Buri Gandaki River, then crossing a river to enter small farm villages and cultivated farm fields of barley, wheat, and millets to reach at Numrung village with first close views of Mt. Manaslu North Face and adjoining peaks. From here onwards where you can notice more villages of strong Tibetan influence with a similar culture of Buddhism all the way around high Manaslu valley. 

Day 09:     Trek to Sama- Gaon 3,520 m - 06 hrs.

From here walk get easier leads to gradual climb with views of the mountain includes Peak 29 after an hour climb reaches into a small forest at Shala village with an excellent view of Phungi, Manaslu and Himal Chuli. Walking for a few hours further where day completes on reach Sama-Gaon village, with a superb view of Mt. Manaslu. Sama-Gaon village one of largest around Manaslu Valley, people are mostly farmers cultivating buckwheat, barley which are the main crops in this high and harsh terrain, potatoes and some high and cold vegetables are also grown. The local villagers are still active with trade and bartering across the border with Tibet, taking few days to reach the frontier of Nepal and Tibet, actually located on old Trans Himalayan Salt Trade route of the two countries.

Day 10: At Sama-Gagon rest day, visit around the scenic and cultural villages.

Enjoy rest day in Sama Gaon with a hike around to support acclimatization before heading higher area towards Larke-La Around Sama- Gaon explores the interesting village and witnesses local traditional culture with views of peaks.

Day 11: Trek to Samdo 3,875m – 04 hrs.

After rest-day in Sama-Gaon, walk leads to reach the last village of Manaslu region at Samdo, morning walk begins with the slow climb as elevation slowly gains within the dry and arid country, taking slowly with a short break to enjoy surrounding beautiful views of peaks and dramatic landscapes. As the walk continues to Samdo village with a short climb on a  flat plateau where the village of Samdo located, a moderate size village with more than fifty houses where nearly two hundred villagers live around this high harsh and dry country.

Day 12: Trek to Dharmasala 4,460 m – 04 hrs.

On leaving the last village of Manaslu valley, the walk continues to the end of the Manaslu area with views of snow-capped peaks includes Mt.  Manaslu also called Kutang in local languages of Tibetan origin, which is world 8th highest at 8,163 m.  The walk continues crossing few icy streams to reach Larke Phedi means bottom or base of a hill or pass, also called Dharmasala (travelers rest house/shade).  At Larke Phedi afternoon free for short walks and preparations for next early morning long climb and descend crossing high Larke-La pass to reach Manang areas.  

Day 13:  Trek to Bhimthang 3,590 m via Larke-La Pass 5,106 m -07 hrs.

After rest and overnight at Larke Phedi, the morning starts uphill past few huts of Dharmasala, walking over the moraine of rocks and boulders in snow conditions can be an arduous job to find the right path. Trek follows past ablation of north Larke glacier, facing views of Cho Danda with Larke Peak, as the walk continues with gradual climb gets much steeper to reach the top of Larke-la festooned with thousands of colorful Buddhist prayer flags. From the top excellent panorama of Himlung, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II include series of Manaslu peaks. After the pass long descends to reach a valley called Garcia, with further hour walks to Tambuche at 3,900m, at the bottom of the pass, and then short walk leads to Bhimthang for overnight stop after a long and tough day walks. Bhimthang a lovely place located on a wide green valley with a number of lodges adorned with prayer Mani walls, the area surrounded by green tall trees of rhododendron-pines and oaks.

Day 15: Trek to Gho in 2,867 min the midst of a forest - 05 hrs.

From Bhimthang rest of the journey easier on downhill walks with some short climb on route to reaching at Gho for overnight stop within woodland a small cattle and yak herders summer pasture and temporary settlement, where few lodges have been built to cater the needs of travelers.

Day 16: Trek to Dharapani 1,963 m -05 hrs. 

Last day walk of the adventure continues from Gho on the gradual and pleasant path on the downhill into the cool shade of the dense forest to reach a nice village of Telje, situated by a raging Marysangdi River. From here cross a bridge to reach nice Dharapani, a large spread-out village located at the junction of famous Annapurna Circuit trail and of Manaslu route. Dharapani where motorable has reached last few years, this village provides excellent lodges for travelers.

Day 16: Drive to Kathmandu on local Jeep or Bus- 07 hrs.

Today ending our walks of the adventure, the morning after breakfast where the drive takes you back at Kathmandu, as the drive heads downhill past Ngadi and Bulbule Syange to reach warmer areas of Lamjung main town at Besar. From here taking another transport as drive leads on the busy and exciting highway past farm villages and towns to reach at Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu back to your respective hotels, having time in the afternoon for leisure personal activities.

Day 17: International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Nepal the country of Himalayan wonders and impressive cultures, as your international flight time transfer to the international airport in Kathmandu for home-ward bound or to respective destinations, after a memorable experience and adventure on Around Manaslu Trekking with great services of Yeti Mountain Treks.
