Trip Mode: Staying in tourist standard hotels while in Kathmandu on treks and staying in a local lodge with tents and full camping facilities during the climbing period.

Trek Grade: Moderate to Adventurous with uphill and downhill with a touch of high altitude as elevation gains gradually with acclimatization days and overnight stops.

Climbing Grade: As ‘TD’ means “Technical Difficulties” used from famous French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification Systems a straight-forward climb with some tough technical difficulty to face in few sections where walks lead on ice, rocks, and snow requires full climbing equipment for a safe and successful climb and descend.

Trek and Climbing Areas:  Nepal North Mid-East of Khumbu districts within Everest Region.

Trek and Climb Duration: 16 nights and 17 days from Lukla to Lukla.

People and Culture: Populated by Sherpa tribe of Buddhist religions with interesting culture and old heritage traditional farm life.

Total Trip: 20 Nights and 21 Days from Arrival to departure (Kathmandu to Kathmandu).

Seasons: April to May the best time when morning to mid-day with clear fine weather for views and walks with mild temperatures, right times for treks for Everest region mid green hills when wildflowers are in full blooming times, especially the rhododendron flowers. Rhododendron from tall trees to bushes with flowers that blossom of various species and colors that decorate the hill and valleys (national flower of Nepal). October to early December months another best time for treks around autumn/fall and pre-winter where days are clear for views as well right temperatures for walks, can be cold during night and morning times with chances of snow in high areas of Everest above 2,800 meters high.

Introduction:

Lobuche Peak Climb and trek to Everest Base Camp leads to marvelous grand combination with scenic views of world highest peaks in the harmony of local impressive Sherpa culture of strong Buddhism religion. Lobuche Peak Climb takes you on top 6,119 meters and 11,287 feet high, where you will soak within the stunning scenery of all Khumbu Himal peaks around Everest region with super close views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse with Makalu in the east direction. One of most adventurous climb similar to another high mountaineering climb to experience on this challenging ascent on top Lobuche East Peak where the grade is used from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing System widely accepted by mountaineers and climbers. Lobuche Peak Climb begins on reaching Lukla town where walk leads on scenic Dudh Kosi River valley through nice villages Phakding, Monjo and then at famous Namche Bazaar the hub of Khumbu Sherpa, where once a week colorful and busy market held on Saturday. Enjoying rest and acclimatization day at Namche where walk leads to a much higher area to reach scenic Thyangboche Monastery surrounded by high peaks with views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse with majestic Amadablam, the area around Thyangboche encircled by green woodland. After an interesting visit of the monastery where walk leads beyond green tree lines into the barren and arid country to reach at Everest base camp beneath mighty Mt. Everest and close to massive Khumbu Ice-Fall and the climb high Kalapathar rocky hilltop for the best panorama of Everest and surrounding giant mountains. Leaving the main trekking trail of Everest where our route leads to hidden small corner at Lobuche East base camp for our adventurous and daring feat to reach on top Lobuche East Peak. At Base and High Camp after much preparation and then ready for the big ascent on top Lobuche East Peak, where climb leads to strenuous and tough technical section to tackle then finally reached on the summit of high Lobuche East Peak facing glorious panorama of mountains with Everest at close range. After a great adventure and gaining great experience on mountaineering climb our return route leads down back at Namche unto Lukla for a scenic flight to Kathmandu where our fantastic Lobuche Peak Climb completes.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites and trek-climb preparation.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,820 m and trek to Phakding 2,657 m - 04 hrs. 

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs.

Day 05: In Namche for rest and acclimatization with a short hike.

Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 05 hrs.

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,365 m - 05 hrs.

Day 08: Another rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and local hike.

Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,890 m - 05 hrs.

Day 10: To Everest Base Camp 5,365 m back at Gorakshep 5,180 m - 06 hrs.

Day 11: Climb Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Lobuche base camp at 4,730 m.

Day 12: Rest day for practice climbing at Lobuche Peak Base Camp. 

Day 13: Climb to Lobuche High Camp 5,400 m/17,712 ft -04 hrs.

Day 14: Summit on top Lobuche Peak 6,119 m/11,287 ft and to base camp.

Day 15: Spare and contingency day in case of bad weather that delay climb 

Day 16: Trek to Pangboche 3,900 n via Pheriche -05 hrs.

Day 17: Trek to Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs.

Day 18: Trek to Lukla - 06 hrs.

Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 20: Spare and contingency day in Kathmandu.

Day 21: International departure for homeward bound.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Yeti Mountain staff and guides for short transfer to your hotel in center of Kathmandu city around interesting Thamel area or nearby. On checking into your rooms getting refreshed briefing for the trek and climb and with other useful information, with welcome dinner in nice Nepalese restaurants with cultural programs.

Day 02: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.

Morning by 9 a.m. where our city guide will take you for an interesting tour around great places steeped with world heritage sites and monuments, after a half day or full day tour back to the hotel with the trek and climb preparation.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,820 m and trek to Phakding 2,657 m - 04 hrs. 

Morning flies to Lukla with grand views of Himalayan peaks during 35 mins flight with Everest on reaching at Lukla with time to refresh, after getting organized start walk on the gradual trail with few ups and down past Sherpa villages and the town of Lukla to reach at Phakding for an overnight stay in a nice local lodge. Phakding village located on Dudh Kosi River gorge, a nice place surrounded in green alpine woodland of tall rhododendron-pines-juniper-oaks and fir tree lines right at the bottom of rocky Kongde Himal peaks.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs.

The morning starts on the gradual trail following Dudh Kosi River upstream to reach at Monjo and Sagarmatha National Park entrance, from here on river valley within a forested area, then with a climb for few hours to reach at famous Namche Bazaar for two nights stop.

Day 05: In Namche for rest and acclimatization with a short hike.

Namche a perfect spot and heights for rest days to support acclimatization, where one can take a high up at scenic viewpoint facing Everest-Lhotse-Nuptse-Amadablam and other range of mountains, walking high resting and sleeping helps to acclimatize better before heading highest areas.

Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 05 hrs.

From Namche heading up and on winding trail with downhill to a river and then uphill walks for few hours within serene alpine woodland to reach at scenic Thyangboche Monastery, surrounded by series of peaks with views of Everest and Amadablam, overnight stop at Thyangboche with time visit its monastery of great interest.

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,365 m - 05 hrs.

Morning with grand views of peaks then downhill to a river, after crossing a bridge with a slow climb towards Pangboche village with close views of Amadablam peak, the walk continues to reach at scenic Imjatse Valley for an overnight stop in Dingboche located facing views of Amadablam and Island peaks.

Day 08: Another rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and local hike.

Another lovely and scenic spot for a rest day to get acclimatize where one can take a short hike up at Nagarjuna hilltop, for excellent views of mountains facing Island Peak within Imjatse valley and Dingboche below, after at leisure and rest marvel the grand views of mountains.

Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,890 m - 05 hrs.

From Dingboche with pleasant time heading up above Dingboche and Imjatse valley with scenic views, and then on gentle up as altitude catches taking slowly to reach at Thugla for lunch stop, in this small place, afternoon climb to a ridge of Thugla-La with gradual walk of an hour from here to reach at Lobuche for overnight with views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.

Day 10: To Everest Base Camp 5,365 m back at Gorakshep 5,180 m - 06 hrs.

After Lobuche walk takes you to our highlight at Everest base camp, as route leads with slow uphill and above Khumbu glacier and moraine to reach a flat field at Gorakshep a place with few nice lodges. From Gorakshep continue to walk toward the east to reach Everest base camp, on reaching our target enjoy views of giant peaks with Khumbu Ice-Fall and glaciers, and then walk back to Gorakshep for an overnight stop.

Day 11: Climb Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Lobuche base camp at 4,730 m.

Morning hike on top Kalapathar above 5,545 m, the highest point on walks rewards you with amazing views of a mountain range with Everest and Pumori at close distance. From here descend to Gorakshep and walk downhill past Lobuche with more descend to reach around the hidden corner above from the main trail to reach at Lobuche Base Camp for an overnight stop with the first time in tented camps.

Day 12: Rest day for practice climbing at Lobuche Peak Base Camp. 

Rest day for proper acclimatization and preparation for the tough climb on top Lobuche Peak, during day time one can practice climb on ice and rocks with rest of the day relax and enjoy the views.

Day 13: Climb to Lobuche High Camp 5,400 m/17,712 ft -04 hrs. 

The walk leads to climbing further high facing grand views of surrounding peaks as route leads to High Camp within rocks and moraine close to glacier for an overnight stop in a tented camp. An afternoon with time for climbing preparation where our guide will offer final brief with information on the safe and successful climb on top Lobuche peaks.

Day 14: Summit on top Lobuche Peak 6,119 m/11,287 ft and to base camp.

Start early morning where climb leads on snow and ice sections, facing steep technical sections to overcome and then heading much higher to reach on top Lobuche Peak summit; after gaining and encountering technical climb finally last push and great haul reach you on top of the summit, after a great touch experience, as you feel in top spirit facing views of mountain range and scenic valley, from the summit, descend safely back to base camp for overnight.

Day 15: Spare and contingency day in case of bad weather that delay climb.

For the great successful climb, we reserve an extra day as a contingency, in case of bad and unfavorable weather or adjusting with this day to maintain itinerary taking care of client’s fitness as well on this high altitude adventure. If this day not used and all goes well according to our standard itinerary our guide/leader will use this extra day on return trek to Lukla, making some short day as you enjoy the walks with views on route.

Day 16: Trek to Pangboche 3,900 n via Pheriche -05 hrs.

From the base of Lobuche Peak walk to Thugla after clearing and cleaning the camp, after Thugla walks into scenic Pheriche Valley to reach at Pheriche for lunch stop, afternoon few hours of good walk on the downhill to Pangboche village for an overnight stop.

Day 17: Trek to Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs.

From Pangboche retrace the journey with ups to Thyangboche and downhill with an hour up and then on a good winding path to Namche Bazaar for an overnight stop before Lukla.

Day 18: Trek to Lukla - 06 hrs.

A long walk of the last day trekking to reach Lukla, from Namche on the downhill to a river with a short climb to Monjo and then on a good trail to Phakding village, where few hours walk from here reaches you at Lukla for final overnight stop within Everest and Khumbu area.

Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel end of the service.

Morning as flight time transfer to Tenzing-Hillary air terminal in Lukla, board in a small aircraft either Dornier-Twin Otter or similar for the scenic flight back to Kathmandu and then to your hotel (end of our service), after a most amazing time on Lobuche Peak Climb and treks.

Day 20: Spare and contingency day in Kathmandu.

Reserve an extra day in Kathmandu in case of flight delay and might lead to cancellation due to unfavorable bad weather conditions, can happen sometimes even in the best time of the year. If all goes well according to our standard itinerary days, enjoy this spare contingency day at leisure for individual activities. 

Day 21: International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Nepal the country of Himalayan wonders and impressive cultures, as your international flight time transfer to the international airport in Kathmandu for homeward bound or to respective destinations, after a memorable experience and adventure on Lobuche Peak Climb and marvelous treks with great services of Yeti Mountain Treks.
