Trip Mode: Staying in tourist standard hotels while in Kathmandu, on treks staying overnight in nice local lodges with tented camps on the climb for few nights.

Trek Grade: Moderate walks with uphill and downhill with no problem facing high altitude.

Climbing Grade: ‘F’ “Facial Easy” means an easy mountain to climb of less technical difficulty but requires climbing equipment for a safe climb and descends, but quite a strenuous climb to the top of Yala Peak. The Grade comes from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification System which popular worldwide on this type of alpine style climb.

Trek and Climb Areas:  Nepal Northern and Central Himalaya within Langtang mountain range.

Trek and Climb Duration: 11 nights and 12 days with drives both ways from Kathmandu.

People and Culture: Lower areas of mix tribe of people of both Hindu and Buddhist religions of various interesting cultures, high hills populated by Tamang the main hill tribes of Langtang and Central Himalaya of Buddhism religion as well practice their own ancestral cult of pre-Buddhism, worshipping nature and mountains.

Total Trip: 14 Nights and 15 Days from Arrival to departure (Kathmandu to Kathmandu).

Seasons: March to May and September to November months, March to May best time when morning to mid-day with clear fine weather for views and walks with mild temperatures, right times for treks and climb around Langtang Valley when wildflowers are in full bloom times, especially the rhododendron flowers. Rhododendron from tall trees to bushes with flowers that blossom of various species and colors that decorate the hill and valleys (national flower of Nepal). September to November months another best time for treks around autumn/fall and pre-winter where days are clear for views as well right temperatures for walks, can be cold during night and morning times with chances of snow in high areas of Langtang area above 1,800 meters high.


Yeti Mountain Trek presents ‘Yala Peak Climb’ a short and beautiful adventure which takes you on top at the height of 5,500 m and 18,044 ft high with a marvelous panorama of whole Langtang-Jugal Himal with some peaks across the border of Tibet. Yala Peak Climb an enjoyable adventure where all interested trekkers and mountaineers can join in for practice climb as well beginners to get the feel of Himalayan Mountains, where Yala an ideal peak to start your mountaineering experience. Yala Peak Climb takes you around beautiful Langtang Valley enclosed by series of high peaks with some mountains of Tibet side, as the area located close to Tibet border just behind Langtang Himal range of peaks. The walk leads after an interesting drive from Kathmandu to reach at Rasuwa district within Langtang Himal range and the home to Tamang people the native of Langtang and other Himalaya range adorn with Buddhism religion and colorful culture. As journey leads higher and into a river gorge filled with dense rhododendron-pines and oak tree lines with some bamboo, then suddenly reaching into a wide area within Langtang valley at Kyanjin. With enough time to enjoy views of peaks and staying more nights at Kyanjin to support acclimatization, then adventure leads to far corners of the valley to reach Yala Peak base camp. After much preparation and practice getting ready for the final bid taking a strenuous walk and climb on snow slopes of less technical effort but tiring to reach the summit of Yala Peak, rewards you with spectacular views of surrounding beautiful country with high snow-capped mountains. Enjoying marvelous time on top feeling in great spirit descend back to Kyanjin for onwards return journey to reach on the road-head for an exciting drive to Kathmandu to complete our fantastic adventure and experience on Yala Peak Climb.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,503 m - 06 hrs.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,450 m/ 8,038 ft - 05 hrs. 

Day 05: Trek to Langtang Village 3,430m/11,253 ft – 05 hrs.

Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin 3,830 m / 12, 565 ft - 04hrs.             

Day 07: At Kyanjin hike to Kyanjin-Ri 4,773 m or Tshego-Ri 4,984 m.     

Day 08: Trek to Yala Peak base camp 4,870 m - 05 hrs.

Day 09: Rest and preparations for the climb of Yala Peak.

Day 10: Climb to the summit of Yala Peak 5,500 m /18,044 ft - 07 hrs.

Day 11: Trek to Kyanjin - 05 hrs overnight in lodge.

Day 12: Trek to Lama Hotel - 06 hrs.  

Day 13: Trek to Syabrubesi - 05 hrs.

Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 15: International departure for homeward bound.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Yeti Mountain staff and guides for short transfer to your hotel in the center of Kathmandu city around interesting Thamel area or nearby. On checking into your rooms getting refreshed briefing of the treks with other useful information, with welcome dinner in nice Nepalese restaurants with cultural programs.

Day 02: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.

Morning by 9 a.m. where our city guide will take you for an interesting tour around great places steeped with world heritage sites and monuments, after a half day or full day tour back to hotel preparation for the treks.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,503 m - 06 hrs.

Morning early morning start for an interesting drive towards Nepal’s North-West highway reaching warmer areas of Nuwakot at Trisuli Bazaar, as the drive continues to cooler region reaching in Dhunche headquarter town of Rasuwa district, where Langtang National Park starts. Drive continue following farm village on downhill till Syabrubensi village is reached to end the driving journey of the day at this nice farm village for the first overnight stop of the adventure. 

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,450 m/ 8,038 ft -05 hrs.                                                     

From Syabrubesi walk starts heading high within farm areas and above a river to reach into the dense forest of tall rhododendron-oaks-pines and magnolia trees with some bamboo stalks, where Red Panda and other wildlife often seen around. On reaching a place near Bamboo, walk leads on a winding path to reach open area surrounded within the forest at Lama Hotel having few good lodges for an overnight stop.

Day 05: Trek to Langtang Village 3,430 m/11,253 ft- 05 hrs.

Morning walk leads into dense woodland around river gorge to reach a small place at Ghodetabela with few houses serving as a lodge, with time here for a possible lunch stop and then start to walk into the deep forest to reach our overnight destination at Langtang village encountering some Buddhist religious monuments of prayer walls and spinning bells. Populated by Tamang tribes where you can catch views of Langtang Lirung above the village, the area around Langtang was badly shaken and damaged from avalanche caused by April 25th and May 15th huge 2015 earthquakes, this and around other villages slowly getting back to normal life.

Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin 3,830m/12, 565 ft – 04 hrs.                                                     

From Langtang village, where morning leads to walking to reach at Kyanjin within scenic Langtang valley, with a short climb to reach a hilltop and then on gradual path entering into a wide open valley of Langtang and at Kyanjin Gompa with many good lodges for overnight stay. Kyanjin offers fantastic mountain panorama located within the beautiful Langtang valley enclosed by an array of giant peaks.

Day 07: At Kyanjin Gompa hike to Kyanjin-Ri 4,773 m or Tshego-Ri 4,984 m.      

A beautiful place for rest day where short excursion and hike takes you to scenic hilltop at Tsherko-Ri or Kyanjin Ri rewards you with outstanding panorama of Ganesh Himal (7,405 m) Langtang Lirung (7,234 m)  Ghengu Liru (Langtang II  6,571m), Kim shut (6,745 m) and Shalbachum(6,918m) towards south Chimsedang with arrays of peaks includes Naya-Kanga (5,846m) and Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak, Jugal Himal and ending to eastern horizon at Dorje Lakpa (6,980m).

Day 08: Trek to Yala Peak base camp 4,870 m - 05 hrs.

Morning walk leads further east from Kyanjing Gompa towards the main highlight of the adventure, walks leads on grassy meadow then around reaching rocky and glacier area with a steep climb to reach a flat area for overnight camp just beneath towering Yala Peak at 4, 870 m high.  From the camp enjoy views of Ganchenpo, Naya Kanga, Tsego Ri, Yala peak and adjoining mountains.                                                                    

Day 09: Rest and preparations for the climb of Yala Peak.

Reserve this day as spare for proper preparation and some practice climb on ice and rocks for next early climb to Yala Peak summit, rest of the day sort out gear and relax for next early morning adventure.                       

Day 10: Climb to the summit of Yala Peak 5,500 m /18,044 ft - 07 hrs.

Starting early in the break of dawn follow our expert guide then climb on snow slopes encountering ice and rocky sections as ascent progress with much technical effort but with vigorous climb to reach the summit of Yala Peak. From the summit enjoy the spectacular panorama of whole Langtang Himal with Shishapangma (Tibet side), Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tsego-Ri, Langtang Lirung and range of mountains of both sides of the country, enjoying marvelous moment descend safely back to base camp.

Day 11: Trek to Kyanjin - 05 hrs overnight in lodge.

Enjoying adventure of a lifetime experience and with camping, morning clear the base camp taking litters and garbage with you and hand at proper disposal sites on route back, morning after packing then head on scenic trail to reach at Kyanjin for overnight in the comfort of a cozy lodge after a great time and climb on top Yala Peak.

Day 12: Trek to Lama Hotel - 06 hrs.  

After lovely moments around beautiful Langtang valley at Kyanjing, where morning walks leads back on the same route, with ample to view places of interest. A nice walk leads you back into farm villages of Langtang and Ghoretabla and entering into dense rhododendron and bamboo forest to reach at Lama Hotel for overnight stops in the midst of wonderful green surroundings, located in a river gorge of upper Trisuli or Langtang Khola.

Day 13: Trek to Syabrubesi - 05 hrs.

After an enjoyable time in the high valley of Langtang where walk leads on the same route with much downhill to reach at Syabrubesi village for last overnight stop around Langtang Himal and to end our memorable treks.

Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Morning drive leads uphill to Dhunche town and then on the downhill to low warmer areas to reach at Kathmandu after a wonderful adventure on Yala Peak Climb around Langtang valley.

Day 15: International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Nepal the country of Himalayan wonders and impressive cultures, as your international flight time transfer to the international airport in Kathmandu for home-ward bound or to respective destinations, after a memorable experience on Yala Peak Climb with Langtang Valley Trekking and great services of Yeti Mountain Treks.
