It's an exceptional area to trek in western Nepal. It has 8 summits surpassing 8000m. each. Separated from the Annapurna region by the Kali Gandaki river the range of 6 Dhaulagiris (7268 to 8167 m.), massif includes more than 30 peaks between 6000 and 8000 m. It was closed to trekkers for sometime but now the region was reopened. We can approach the Dhaulagiri range by Tansen, Capital of Magar People, a most ancient ethnic of Nepal before the unification in 1742. |

Dhaulagiri French Pass Trek |

|
We follow the same itinerary as the Dhaulagiri Empire until we reach the lower part of rhododendron forest. Throughout the trek, you are surrounded by the colossal peaks of the north face of Dhaulagiri I (8167 m.). Much of the route is on snow ad glaciers as it crosses French Pass (5240 m.), traverses the head of Hidden valley and crosses Thapa Pass (5250 m.). The trek ends with a steep descent to Marpha and Jomsom. Fly back to Pokhara and Kathmandu.
